So much going on in this painting, yet so balanced. Paint is pulled and pushed away, revealing layer upon layer beneath it. It's hard to believe all of Chris' paintings are done in one sitting, with no time to dry between layers. "Sour Mash" almost feels like tons of smaller scenes are playing out in strips of individual frames across the entire canvas. Or like a comic book read. The things you can imagine within this painting are endless.
